Applied Digital, Inc. (ADI) has announced that LaMont “Monte” Gilliland has been named as the Company’s new president. During his 12 years with the Company, Gilliland has assisted in a number of capacities in production and quality control, most recently serving as the Vice President of Operations. Dan Smith, founder and owner of ADI will continue his 32 year tenure and remain as Chief Operating Officer for the Company.
“The shoes of Dan Smith will be a challenge to fill,” remarked Gilliland, who studied engineering and agriculture at Kansas State University with continuing studies in computer science and information technology. “Dan’s principled commitment to running the company debt free means that ADI will be here to support our customers for the long haul. I will continue to have the good fortune of being mentored by Dan as we continue to work together through changing market conditions by innovating and creating great products for the marketplace.
“With Aquarius Farm Controls and AutomationTec – two new and exciting product lines in the Agriculture and Hospitality sectors, this is an exciting time for ADI,” Gilliland continued. “I look forward to building upon Dan’s rock-solid foundation to further strengthen our company’s position and create more jobs for our area.”
Gilliland grew up on a family farm, and he and his family have been proud to call Branson home since 2005. He serves as an Assistant Scout Master with his son’s Boy Scout troop and enjoys influencing and encouraging area youth to become future community leaders. His wife and four children enjoy exploring the beauty of the Ozarks by camping, hiking, and biking.
